After sketching & considering, I have decided that the avocotter design isn't dynamic enough for this project. To make the elements recognizable I would have to stick within a pretty tight frame work of what an otter & an avocado look like. Enter the Foo Dog. A Foo Dog is a Chinese guardian that is a chimera of a dog & a lion, which leaves room for creative interpretation. Some ideas: A mane of barrel knotted mustard macrame chord Fluffy chest created on latch hook rug backing Wide open mouth, visible tongue Upside down heart nose Sculpted characteristic curl Pom-pom necklace Prominent forehead/ eyebrows Visible paw? on Ball?
